ChinaSat-19 (Zhongxing-19)

ChinaSat-19 (Zhongxing-19) is a Chinese geostationary communications satellite operated by China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. (China Satcom). It was launched on November 5, 2022, aboard a Long March 3B (CZ-3B) rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center.

The satellite was built by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) using an advanced DFH-4 series platform, widely used for high-power communications satellites in geostationary orbit (GEO). ChinaSat-19 is designed to provide secure communications services, supporting a mix of government, military, and strategic communication needs, as well as potential civilian broadcasting and data applications.

Operating in multiple frequency bands (including C-band and Ku-band), ChinaSat-19 delivers reliable coverage across China and neighboring regions. Its mission focuses on enhancing national communications infrastructure, ensuring robust and secure connectivity for critical operations.

ChinaSat-19 is part of China’s broader ChinaSat satellite constellation, which plays a key role in expanding the country’s satellite communications capacity, redundancy, and security in geostationary orbit.
