ChinaSat-1E (Zhongxing-1E)

ChinaSat-1E (Zhongxing-1E) is a Chinese geostationary communications satellite operated by China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. (China Satcom). It was launched on September 13, 2022, aboard a Long March 7A (CZ-7A) rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site.

Built by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), ChinaSat-1E is based on a modern DFH-4 series satellite platform and is designed to provide secure, high-reliability communications services. The satellite supports a range of applications, including voice communications, data transmission, radio, and television broadcasting.

ChinaSat-1E primarily serves government, military, and strategic communication needs, while also contributing to civilian infrastructure. Operating in multiple frequency bands, it enhances coverage, capacity, and redundancy across China and surrounding regions.

The satellite is part of China’s expanding ChinaSat communications fleet, strengthening the country’s geostationary satellite network and supporting increasing demand for secure and resilient space-based communications.
