ChinaSat-3B Satellite Overview

ChinaSat-3B (Zhongxing-3B) is a Chinese geostationary communications satellite operated by China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. (China Satcom). It was launched on May 20, 2025, aboard a Long March 7A rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Center (WSLS).

Built on the DFH-4 satellite platform by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), the satellite was designed to deliver broadcasting, telecommunications, and broadband services across China and surrounding regions. The satellite operates in C-band and Ku-band frequencies, supporting television distribution, voice communications, and data transmission.

Despite this, ChinaSat-3B represents an important step in the development of China’s DFH-4 high-power satellite bus and its growing capabilities in geostationary satellite communications.
