Skybrokers delivered and installed a used VertexRSI 9m Earth Station Antenna to the Makarios Teleport in Cyprus for CYTA

In June 2024, Telco CYTA approached Skybrokers with a request to deliver and install two used satellite Earth Station Antennas at their Makarios teleport facilities in Cyprus. The two antennas were inspected and prepared and we included refurbished motors, new cabling, and limits adjustments. The integration of a new Tracking system was seamlessly accomplished for the 9m Earth Station Antenna, that was assembled and aligned by one of our antenna installation supervisors with great help of CYTA technicians. This project required detailed logistics planning, and the installation and commissioning processes were successfully completed end of February 2025.

CYTA was originally established as Cyprus Inland Telecommunications Authority (CITA) in 1955, but was renamed CYTA in 1961 after taking control of external communications from Cable and Wireless, Ltd. The company has provided mobile telephony service since 1988 and Internet access since 1995 under the CYTANet brand. CYTA operates the Makarius Satellite Ground Station consisting of 150 antennas sizing from 1.2m VSAT to the almighty 32m Earth Station. The teleport links to various satellites in C-, Ku- and DBS- frequency bands and is staffed 24/7/365.
