The satellite was designed to deliver service for 15 years or more and was launched on December 21st, 2016 in a dual launch with Star Ine D1 satellite for satellite operator Embratel/Star One from Brazil, on an Ariane 5 launcher operator by Arianespace from the Kourou launch site in French Guyana.
