Company History

In 2014 Spacepath Communications Ltd. was formed by Newton Burnett and Colin Bolton, as a Joint-Venture with Polarity, Inc, a power systems design and manufacturing company based in Rancho Cordova, California, USA. The JV was created to purchase the e2v Stellar satelite uplink product range from RF-equipment manufacturer e2v (aka EEV), that later was acquired by Teledyne Technologies, Inc.

The Stellar product range of rugged, high-power TWTA’s amplifiers had an international reputation for high efficiency and reliable performance in all demanding environments. The proven StellarCool™ and StellarMini™ line of amplifiers span all of the primary satellite frequency bands, including C-, X-, Ku-, DBS, Tri- and Quad-bands, and cover all mission-critical segments including, (D)SNG, Military satellite communications, Earth Station Antenna applications, Mobile applications and Flyaway or truck based systems.

Colin Bolton held positions of Country Manager of CPI Europe, a subsidiary of CPI Communications, Inc. and former President of Comtech Xicom Technology Europe, Ltd.

Newton Burnet founded Powerlink, Europe’s leading satellite amplifier repair and service Company in 1994 and sold the Company to Richardson Electronics in August, 2011. Prior to this, Newton held a number of engineering and manufacturing positions at e2v (aka EEV).

In 2017, the company further expanded its TWTA and sub-system capabilities with the acquisition of US-based Tango Wave, Inc. moving all development and production of Tango Wave to SpacePath in the UK.

In August 2020 SpacePath signed an agreement to supply an Asian telecommunications company with its SSPA’s. The deal valued approximately 700k USD.

In September 2020 SpacePath won a major order fort he supply of outdoor STA5000-series outdoor TWTA’s to a leading African connectivity solutions provider. The high-power amplifiers will be used to provide DTH-broadcast and dataservices to remote regions via a new digital satellite TV network.
