DirecTV-10 (AT&T-10, T10)

DirecTV-10, later renamed AT&T-10, is a high-capacity geostationary communications satellite operated by DirecTVand subsequently by AT&T. It was designed to support direct-to-home (DTH) television broadcasting, with a strong focus on high-definition (HD) TV services across the United States.

The satellite was built by Space Systems/Loral (SSL) on the LS-1300 satellite platform and launched on 7 July 2007 aboard a ILS Proton-M / Breeze-M rocket. DirecTV-10 operates primarily in the Ka-band, enabling significantly increased bandwidth and capacity compared to earlier Ku-band broadcast satellites.

DirecTV-10 became a cornerstone of DirecTV’s HD expansion strategy, helping to accelerate the rollout of nationwide HD television services and strengthening the long-term capabilities of the U.S. broadcast satellite fleet.
