Skybrokers de-installed three Andrew Earth Station Antennas at the Speedcast Aberdeen Teleport in Scotland
In August 2024 Skybrokers technicians removed a 5.6m and two 7.3m Andrew Earth Station antennas from the Speedcast Aberdeen Teleport, formerly Harris Caprock Teleport, in Scotland. The installation team dismantled and packed the antennas in a three-week time-frame to load them on dedicated trucks for transportation to our antenna facility in The Netherlands. The antennas will undergo full refurbishment prior to sale.
Speedcast has grown to be one of the major satellite service providers in the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions, with a global maritime network serving customers worldwide. Thru the years Speedcast acquired various companies such as GeoLink in 2015, the teleport sssets from NewSat satellite operator from Australia after its bankruptcy in 2015, ST Teleport in Singapore in 2015, Harris Caprock in 2016 and Globecomm in 2018.
In February 2020 the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. On March 11th 2021, Speedcast announced the completion of its restructuring and emerged from chapter 11 proceedings under the ownership of Centerbridge Partners, L.P. The company now is consolidating its facilities and services over 3,500 customers across more than 2,000 terrestrial sites in about 50 countries and almost 1,200 maritime vessels and offshore rigs.
