In recent months, we've been fully engaged in streamlining our depot operations, consolidating them into a single centralized storage facility dedicated to housing pre-owned earth station antennas. Every component and part of these antennas is meticulously stored and managed in partnership with our logistics provider in Holland. Equipped with designated cleaning areas, high-pressure washing facilities, heavy-duty forklifts, and mobile loading ramp equipment, our logistics team efficiently loads, secures, and transports both used and refurbished earth station antennas using specialized trucks and containers.
In Holland, we have access to a network of professional refurbishment partners specializing in sandblasting, galvanizing, and spray-painting antenna components. Additionally, we collaborate with metal and body shops, as well as skilled IEC-certified electricians, to undertake repairs, refurbishments, and preparations for satellite antennas destined for deployment across the globe. In July and August 2023, Skybrokers successfully converted two ASC Signal 4.9m Earth Station Antennas, operated by Tusass (formerly Tele Post Greenland), from C-band to Ku-band to enable communication with the HispaSat Amazonas Nexus satellite. The antennas are operating from remote and hard-to-reach communities in Tasiilaq and Ittoqqortoormiit, located on the East-coast of Greenland. Following rigorous testing, the antennas were put back into operation, providing more affordable internet connections for local homes.
Traveling to these remote villages proved to be a complex journey making 14 stops across Iceland and Greenland involving airplanes, helicopters and multiple transfers and two return flights to Iceland. Sad. I remember when I worked at Andrew Corp and we sold all those in the early 2000s.
They're slowly going away. Some of them remain however and continue to grow, Mount Jackson for example.
