The company operated as a separate entity of UK-based aerospace and defense group Cobham that acquired Precision in 2004.
Precision Antennas was incorporated in 1945 in the UK. The company had approximately 500 employees at three sites in Stratford in the UK before it became part of Andrew’s Antenna and Cable Products Group. Precision Antennas had calendar year 2005 sales of 46 million USD.
In April 2006 Earth Station Antenna manufacturer Andrew Corporation bought Precision Antennas, Ltd. in a 26 million USD cash transaction. The operation became part of Andrew Corporation’s Antenna and Cable Products Group.
In 2008 the company had to cut 345 jobs and closed its Stratford-upon-Avon, Bidford and Long Marston sites to offshore manufacturing to India, China and the Czech Republic to save costs.
