The APSTAR-9 satellite is located at 142° East Geostationary orbit covering Asia Pacific and Hawaii in C-band and east Indian Ocean to west Pacific Ocean in steerable Ku-band.
The spacecraft was constructed by Chinese CAST satellite manufacturer based on the DFH-4 bus. TS Global Network (TSGN) from Malaysia, a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) connectivity provider, agreed with APT Satellite Company Ltd. to invest in a designated payload on the operator’s APSTAR-9 satellite. The payload, dubbed MySat-1, will provide C-band transponder capacity for the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Asia-Pacific markets.
The 5,200kgs heavy APSTAR-9 satellite was launched on October 17th, 2015 by launch operator CGWIC from China on a Long March CZ/3B rocket. APSTAR-9 has a planned operational lifespan of over 15 years.
