Galaxy-30 (G-30) is the first satellite in Intelsat’s comprehensive Galaxy fleet refresh plan, a new generation of technology that will provide Intelsat Media customers in North America with high-performance broadcast distribution capabilities. It is critical to Intelsat’s U.S. C-band clearing strategy. With additional Ku-band and Ka-band steerable beams, G-30 will also serve some of Intelsat’s North American government, mobility and enterprise customers.

Galaxy-30 was launched on the Arianespace Ariane 5 rocket from the Guiana Space Center near Kourou, French Guiana at 6:04 p.m. EDT on August 15th, 2020.
