NSS 7 is a hybrid Ku- and C-band telecommunications satellite, operated by SES and providing fixed satellite services, including video distribution, Internet access, corporate business networking and fixed services such as telephony and data. Based on an enhanced version of Lockheed Martin’s A2100AXS satellite bus, this 72 transponder satellite will operate at 20° West longitude over the Atlantic Ocean, providing coverage to Europe, Africa and the Americas where it will replace the Lockheed Martin built NSS K and NSS 803 satellites.

NSS-7 was launched on April 16th, 2002, on an Ariane 44L booster rocket operated by launch operator Arianespace from the Kourou Space Port in French Guiana.
