Overview

Optus‑X, also known as TD7, is a geostationary communications satellite built by Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems for Optus, one of Australia’s major telecommunications providers. Launched aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 on November 17, 2024, from Kennedy Space Center’s LC-39A, the mission officially deployed to geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) Optus and the U.S. government refer to the mission as “Optus‑X,” reflecting its dual civilian and military usage.
