In August 2024 we installed a refurbed ASC signal 4.9m Antenna with a new 10m radome on the Pituffik Space Base, the formerly US Military base Thule in northwest Greenland for Tusass. The Base is the northernmost United States Space Force's installation of the Armed Forces, located at 76โ31โ52โN / 68โ42โ11โW, 947 mile (1,524 km) from the North Pole on the northwest coast of Greenland. Pituffik SB supports Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Surveillance missions using phased array radar systems.
Amazing project, providing better internet connection to the local community, that was finished on 10th September โ24 with great help from an international team of installers and local helpers with stunning views on the Ice-sheet, Arctic Wildlife and countless number of glaciers. ... Two antennas will find a new home in Europe soon. Stay tuned! ... See MoreSee Less
Sad. I remember when I worked at Andrew Corp and we sold all those in the early 2000s.
An amazing amount of Technology incorporated in the feeds of those antennas. I learned a lot through the years beginning with the horn antenna and its psuedo reference at the Andover Maine Earth station. We referred to it as FM back then.....that is "F--king Magic". ๐
They're slowly going away. Some of them remain however and continue to grow, Mount Jackson for example.
In recent months, we've been fully engaged in streamlining our depot operations, consolidating them into a single centralized storage facility dedicated to housing pre-owned earth station antennas. Every component and part of these antennas is meticulously stored and managed in partnership with our logistics provider in Holland. Equipped with designated cleaning areas, high-pressure washing facilities, heavy-duty forklifts, and mobile loading ramp equipment, our logistics team efficiently loads, secures, and transports both used and refurbished earth station antennas using specialized trucks and containers.
In Holland, we have access to a network of professional refurbishment partners specializing in sandblasting, galvanizing, and spray-painting antenna components. Additionally, we collaborate with metal and body shops, as well as skilled IEC-certified electricians, to undertake repairs, refurbishments, and preparations for satellite antennas destined for deployment across the globe. Presently, we have a stock of 15 antennas ranging in size from 3.7m to 9.3m, all of which can be readily dispatched for shipment when needed. ... See MoreSee Less
