Reflex Aerospace
Reflex Aerospace is a privately held New-Space start-up that manufactures tailor-made, high performance satellite platforms. With offices in Berlin and Munich, Germany the company is the first venture backed satellite manufacturer carrying digital engineering and cutting-edge manufacturing and assembly techniques to the extreme. Satellites may now be built in less than a year thanks to new technologies like 3D printing.
The first two satellites out of about 400 will be launched in early 2023.
The company, headquartered in Berlin in Germany, also leads the UN:IO consortium with partner companies Mynaric and Isar Aerospace and 20 European space companies overall are involved in the consortium. UN:IO is currently assessing the establishment of an independent constellation of 400 satellites for broadband internet on behalf of the European Commission. UN:IO plans to launch a first demonstrator in 2023, followed by more than 400 laser-linked satellites to give Europe a fully operational network by 2025.
Company History
Reflex Aerospace was founded in May 2021 by Christian Lindener and Walter Ballheimer (CEO). Ballheimer has worked for German Orbital Systems and held a management position at Exolaunch from Berlin. Lindener has worked for Telefónica and Airbus.
On December 13th, 2021 the foundation of the consortium “UN:IO” was announced, with Reflex Aerospace, Mynaric and Isar Aerospace as leading members together with 20 European Space companies. UN:IO is the second consortium that will investigate an European satellite constellation for broadband internet. The first consortium, New Symphonie, is led by market intelligence firm Euroconsult and satellite surveillance startup UnseenLabs with 22 members from eight different European countries.
