MCL, Inc. designed and manufactured Klystron Tubes, Traveling Wave Tubes, and Solid State Power amplifiers and redundant systems. Its products included outdoor amplifiers, indoor amplifiers, lab amplifiers, redundant systems, pulsed amplifiers and transceivers were offered for use in C, X, Ku and Ku-DBS bands with RF power output levels from less than 25 watts to more than 3,000 watts.
MCL sold its products through distributors and representatives worldwide. The company was founded in 1961 and was based in Bolingbrook, Illinois, close to Chicago where it operated from a modern, MCL-designed, two-story building. The facility occupied 124,000 square feet, of which 80,000 is used for the designing, manufacturing, testing and servicing of all types of high power amplifiers. The facility was equipped with state-of-the-art microwave and RF test equipment, modern assembly facilities and a machine/fabrication shop.
MCL was acquired by Miteq, Inc. in 2000 and as of June 25th, 2013, MCL, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Communications & Power Industries LLC. (CPII) when CPI bought Miteq.
