Satellite service provider Speedcast is operating a Teleport in Biddinghuizen in The Netherlands. The Teleport is housing 25+ antennas in C- and Ku-band from manufacturers like Andrew/ASC Signal and VertexRSI (GDSatcom/CPI).

Speedcast has grown to be one of the major satellite service providers in the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions, with a global maritime network serving customers worldwide. Thru the years Speedcast acquired various companies such as GeoLink from France, NewSat satellite operator from Australia after its bankruptcy, ST Teleport in Singapore, Globecomm Europe and Harris Caprock.

In February 2020 the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. On March 11th 2021, Speedcast announced the completion of its restructuring and emerged from Chapter 11 proceedings under the ownership of Centerbridge Partners, L.P. The company now is consolidating its facilities and services over 350 customers across more than 2,000 terrestrial sites in about 50 countries and almost 1,200 maritime vessels and offshore rigs.

VertexRSI offered design and engineering support as preparation for the installation.

The company was founded in 1973 and operated from 2004 till 2019 as subsidiary of General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, a USA based business unit of General Dynamics C4 Systems, operating as General Dynamics Mission Systems. VertexRSI was owned by Tripoint Global, a privately held company in New York who bought Vertex in 1999 from Vertex Corp. Tripoint Global was composed that time of RSI, Prodelin, Gabriel Electronics & Microwave and CSA Wireless Communications. Tripoint Global merged Vertex with RSI to become VertexRSI. GDSatcom acquired Trpoint Global in 2004.

In 2019 VertexRSI (GDSatcom) was acquired by CPI, Inc.
