Andrew 7.6m Satellite Antenna System loaded for shipment to Hellas-Sat Satellite Operator on Cyprus
In December 2022 a refurbished Andrew 7.6m Antenna system with RF chain was loaded in a dedicated 40ft ocean going container for shipment to Satellite Operator Hellas-Sat located in Cyprus. The antenna was fully refurbished and checked out to include new motors/gearboxes, new jackboots, reflector hardware kits and cabling. Both jackscrews were serviced and greased for proper operation.
Hellas-Sat Satellite Operator is a premium satellite communications solutions provider founded in 2001. It operates Teleports in Greece and Cyprus and owns and operates the HellasSat-2 satellite. The company jointly owns the Hellas-Sat 3/Inmarsat S EAN satellite with Inmarsat, and operates a payload on the Hellas-Sat 4/SaudiGeoSat-1 satellite at 39° East owned by Arabsat and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
In 2013 Hellas-Sat was acquired by Arabsat, the 6th largest satellite operator in the world. Hellas-Sat satellites are located at 39° East orbital slot offering coverage over Europe, Middle-East and Southern Africa.
Andrew Corporation was the owner of Andrew Satellite Communications business and in 2001 formed into ASC Signal Corporation that was acquired by CPI in September 2015. ASC Signal was integrated into the CPI Antenna Systems Division as of 2017 when in 2020 the ASC Signal Antenna division was sold to Kratos Defense & Security. CPI had acquired GDSatcom Technologies in 2019, but the U.S. Justice Department required CPI to divest its ASC Signal Division since there would be a monopoly on the antenna business in the USA.
