Belintersat-1 is operated by Belintersat from Belarus and is located at 51.5° East Orbital location and provides a wide range of telecommunication services (satellite TV and radio broadcasting, internet access, etc.). The satellite carries transponders operating in C- and Ku-bands. The satellite is based on the DFH-4 bus manufactured by China Academy of Space Technologies (CAST) and made of 100% certified flight-quality components.
Some of the transponders have been sold to satellite operator China Satcom and are marketed under the designation ZX-15 or ChinaSat-15.
Belintersat-1 is the nineth satellite on this platform and was launched in January 2016 on a Long March LM-3 (CZ-3M) rocket operated by launch operator CGWIC. Thales Alenia Space was responsible for the design and construction of the payload of the spacecraft.
